Blaine Harden, Escape from Camp 14

On August 1, 2012 Asia Society Southern California held an invitation only event with Author and Journalist, Blaine Harden, where he discussed his new book, “Escape from Camp 14.” As a journalist Blaine reports for PBS Frontline and Contributes to The Economist. He worked for the Washington Post as a correspondent in Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia, as well as in New York and Seattle.

 In his new book, “Escape from Camp 14,” Blaine documents the life of the only person known to be born in and to escape from a North Korean prison camp, Shin Dong-Hyuk.  The international bestseller was published in spring 2012 and will soon be published in 14 other languages across Europe and Asia.
